It's sturdy and well built, it will take lots of punishment from students. And it's very thoughtful, there are probably a hundred different procedures you can perform on this, not to mention the extra pieces you can purchase separately.To be clear, this is not an anatomy doll, it doesn't have any organs that aren't related to procedures it teaches. So, for example, the bladder is not anatomical, and there are no kidneys - the bladder is just a rubber squeeze ball to hold fluids so you can practice irrigation etc.I won't list all the things you can do with it, they cover some of those things in the video and product detail page. But besides the obvious things, you can also use this to practice cleaning and grooming, administering eye drops, dressing and undressing a patient, moving and lifting a patient, etc. This is only 30 pounds, but it's still good practice, and it's unwieldy like a limp person. Plus I'm sure you could come up with a creative way to add weight to it if you had a specific lesson objective in mind.The interchangeable parts are silicone - to practice suture, injections, etc. The Deltoid site has a sponge behind it, so fluid doesn't go everywhere while practicing. Some of these silicone parts come with duplicates, and of course you can order replacements separately. They are intended to be disposable/replaceable, but they are sturdy and should last a long time.The rest of the doll is hard plastic, durable, easy to wash, resistant to stains.For everything you get, I can't believe how inexpensive this thing is.It's preassembled, and there is only one sheet of instructions to go along with it, which basically points out the features.It shows the doll wearing pajamas or maybe a patient gown with pants - but to be clear, no clothes are included.My only disappointment was that there was no male chest - but apparently you can order it separately. They say male / female, but they are only referring to genitalia.
