Shipping causes a lot of vibrations and because of that carbon dust can escape. Companies I worked for shipped crates to protect custom items and we would have to blow dust out of the crates or the sawdust/other dust could be agitated during shipment and clean items would arrive dusty. I strongly don’t recommend this filter for other reasons as off brand seems to work better, but that’s why it would be dusty on arrival. **Q: Why not prime time?** A: For more information on shipping, please send a message to the seller directly. **Q: What is the shelf life of this replacement filter since next change will still be 2 years away?** A: The shelf life for the V5-Cell Filter is 2 years when stored properly.
