Review: They work, although I have to customize them a bit. Lifesaver for my senior dog. - Lifesaver for my senior dog. I’ve tried the socks and the boots before, nothing has worked. She is having trouble walking, dragging one of her back legs. The hardwood floors and tiles in the house are a nightmare for her, constantly slipping and falling. With these on she doesn’t slip and has way more control and confidence walking. I cut off the top of the rubber bootie because otherwise they are too tight. I also make a few holes to make them more breathable since she has them on from the morning until bedtime. I take them off while she sleeps at night so that her paws can breathe and take a break. I put on a new pair every 5 days or so when they rip from her going outside. She doesn’t try to take them off, she doesn’t mind them at all.

I had him stand on paper, drew lines in front of his claws and just behind his rear pad, measured the distance (3 5/8 inches) and followed the fitting advice to order the LARGE size. This size is for Akitas, Labs, etc. The balloon part is fine - there is enough room for his paw. HOWEVER (big problem alert), the neck of the boot is so tight that a) it takes two people to put it on his paw and b) it hurts his leg because of the constriction - he holds his paws up and tries not to stand on them, and c) it’s very difficult to pull the boots off the paws once you finally get them on because the neck is SO tight. Perhaps I got a defective set, but this product is of zero use for me. I have no idea what these were made for - baby giraffes? Seriously, the ankles on these things are so much too small that it’s laughable. UPDATE: I wrote to the Pawz company about this but nobody has responded. I wanted to say to those of you who have the same problem we did that if you cut the tops of the boots off just below the lip it becomes workable, at least it did for us. The boots can then be put on by one person (although women might have more trouble than men due to the hand strength issue - I'm a guy and I didn't have any trouble) and the boots do not fall off on a long walk. I can't speak to how they stay on with active play or work because we don't do that with this older dog. I am leaving my review at one star because this is an issue the company really needs to address, even if it is in such a basic way as to inform customers via some text on the label. The boots do seem to work once you alter them, and when they work they should get a better review than I am giving them, but...they are really awful straight out of the box and the company's response to my inquiry was terrible, as in non-existant. Pawz needs a wakeup call, so my rating stands. Just know what you are getting in to.

Lifesaver for my senior dog. I’ve tried the socks and the boots before, nothing has worked. She is having trouble walking, dragging one of her back legs. The hardwood floors and tiles in the house are a nightmare for her, constantly slipping and falling. With these on she doesn’t slip and has way more control and confidence walking. I cut off the top of the rubber bootie because otherwise they are too tight. I also make a few holes to make them more breathable since she has them on from the morning until bedtime. I take them off while she sleeps at night so that her paws can breathe and take a break. I put on a new pair every 5 days or so when they rip from her going outside. She doesn’t try to take them off, she doesn’t mind them at all.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great solution for winter walks!

I am so pleased with these boots! My dog has been refusing to walk outside for any length of time due to ice, snow and subzero temperatures. I tried some 'homemade' booties a la infant socks wrapped in Glad cling wrap (as suggested by some friends)...my dog promptly pulled them off before we even got outside. Other commercial boots have looked far too bulky for comfort, and frankly have been way too expensive for something I figured my dog would not tolerate. But one too many days of having to drag him down the sidewalk just so he'd do his business had me searching for another option. I purchased the Paws boots with some skepticism, but was attracted to them because they're inexpensive compared to the non-disposable kind, claimed to be reusable, and had good reviews. I purchased the 'large' size for my 75-lb. greyhound. I had a very easy time getting them on my dog's feet. I just used one hand to open the boot and the other to work his paw into it. I imagine they would be more difficult to put on a dog with long fur as the rubber would catch on long fur, but I had no problems with my dog's very short fur. The "cuff" part fit snugly around my dog's ankle without being too tight, and though the rest of the boot kind of seemed balloon-like around his paw, it worked! My dog initially tried to bite at the boots and take them off...but he did not succeed in either putting holes in the boots or taking them off, and he soon lost interest in trying. He walked a little bow-legged in them at first, while he was getting used to them, but that only lasted a couple minutes and then it was like he'd always been wearing them. He was able to take a whole, long walk in the ice/snow/single-digit temperatures without stopping once for me to scrape ice out of his paws, warm up his feet, or him just plain refusing to go any further! For the first time in several weeks, I got cold before he did! The boots also stayed on when he walked through some deep snow, and seemed to protect his paws when he walked over some quite sharp icy places on the sidewalk that have been rutted by (human) boots and snowplows. I took the boots off easily when we came in from our walk and there were no holes or indicators of wear. We will definitely be using these daily until the weather warms up! Fantastic product!
