I had limited mobility of my hands when I initially purchased this and as I was practicing using this I was pleased that I had no issues making the holes when pushing the punch down. I needed 8 holes and since this is a 4 hole punch, I was easily able to line up my paper to make a second set of holes. I used this on regular card stock and on laminated pages with no problems. I did not double up my pages so I cannot answer to if that works.
