Your wet dry vac . At least it should. But clogged filters reduce suction leaving you constantly banging out filters, or worse yet running to the store to replace your vac. The Mullet High-Speed Cyclone Dust Collector strips the air of dirt and debris (including wood, concrete, drywall, metal shavings and much more) before it even reaches your vac. Its unique and superior curved cyclone shape throws dust particles to its outer wall dropping them into the dump bin with clean air traveling to your thankful vac (and its filter). That means your suction stays strong, and you get to focus on cleanup instead of cleaning out your vac’s filter.

Review: I bought this to help with removing popcorn ceiling, and it made the whole process much easier. I also bought the $40 "bucket and lid" solution to try first as it was significantly cheaper. If that had worked I would have just returned this magnificent beast and saved the $200. Using the mullet, though, was much, much easier and the upgrade cost was worth it to me for how much faster I could work. The unit itself is very solidly built, definitely up for moving and banging around. The connection to the shop vac is solid as well (if you set it up correctly). I just grabbed the dust collector and dragged around the whole thing as a unit. Every detail is very well thought out, from the documentation (they give you a branded coozie, carpenters pencil, and a dollar bill attached to the registration) to all the different use cases. There are many features I will probably never use, for example I'm probably never going to mount this on my wall or in a vertical configuration. But it's nice to know I could. As a dust collector it works very well. Much better than a bucket. It maintains better suction and separate out the dust very well before it can get into the vacuum. While I did make sure it never got too full, I was able to remove 2200 SQ ft of popcorn ceiling without changing the bag in my shop vac once.

It comes to you mostly assembled except for measuring for using on your vacuum. You need to use a back saw, cut off saw, band saw, etc. to cut the vertical 1.5” pvc tube. Don’t worry it takes less than 10 minutes to use the supplied template to quickly measure, mark, cut and assemble! Easy peasy. I don’t do many reviews but I needed to let you know how good this collector really is. Bye it. You’re gonna love it!

**Q: .5 PVC Pipe - is the bottom of this pipe open?**
A: No, it isn't. The tee fitting has an internal dome cap pre-installed blocking the airway that would travel down the bottom portion of the 1.5-inch PVC pipe. A bolt is installed at the bottom of the pipe to lock it in place.

**Q: Will this hook up to a Vacmaster Pro 5.5 which has a screw on hose?**
A: Yes, the included hose adapters allow the Mullet cyclone's PVC setup to connect directly into the Vacmaster's inlet. We 3D print and provide for free a threaded adapter to mate the threaded hose to the Mullet cyclone's inlet allowing you to still use your Vacmaster hose.

**Q: can you wet sand with this? can it pick up mosit/wet dust, as from a sander?**
A: Yes, you can absolutely use this with wet sanding. You should see very good separation of moisture/debris into the dump bin. Pickup with wet sanding can be difficult due to the added weight of the moist dust. But if your sanding and vac setup can pick it up, the cyclone will separate it.

**Q: Does the cyclone attach to a Karcher WD5 shop vac (has a keyed hose connector)?**
A: Other brands have a keyed hose connector that works with the included Mullet Wet Dry Vac Hose Adapters, but the Karcher hose hasn't been examined yet. Could you snap a couple of pictures of it and send them plus the hose diameter to gus@mullettools.com? We'll get this sorted out as soon as possible.

I bought this to help with removing popcorn ceiling, and it made the whole process much easier. I also bought the $40 "bucket and lid" solution to try first as it was significantly cheaper. This item performs exactly as advertised. It collects the finest dust and shavings that would be collected by your vacuum cleaner that would normally stop up your vac filter and cause you to loose suction. I used my lathe and the Mullet collected most of the fine dust and a lot of the shavings in the lathe operation. I then used the hose attached to the mullet to clean up after turning. All the dust and shavings stayed in the mullet and did not go into the vacuum leaving the filter clean. I was amazed that I was able to clean around my lathe and the vac filter stayed clean.
