Review: Great product with equally great customer service! - I used these rods to reattach the valance (the part that hangs down from the splash shield to redirect airflow) on my wife’s 2013 Ford Mustang. I don’t mean to brag, but between me and the JOUNJIP plastic welding rods, I think it’s on there better than when it left the factory. It was my first attempt at plastic welding and given that I am not in the least mechanically inclined, I was surprised at the results. Then again, it was a fairly simple job and being as it was underneath the car, appearance did not matter. Then I had a project where a question arose – which plastic rod to use. You see, from doing research on the subject, I found out that you can’t use just any old plastic for welding. If you use the wrong kind, it won’t stick to the item you are welding. So, you have to match the kind of plastic you are welding to the kind of rod to weld it with. I had a compass (one that reads out on my dashboard display) that mounted below the rearview mirror of my car which had a tab on one side break off and it would not stay in place. So, I decided to repair it myself. It was either that or buy a new one, but new ones run anywhere from $50 to $60. Now I’m not cheap, but I’d rather spend that money on other things, and if I can fix it for free, it’s a no-brainer. Besides, because I am not mechanically inclined, everything that I fix gives me experience, as well as a boost of confidence. And that may not be worth 50 bucks, but it’s worth something to me. Unsure of the kind of plastic I needed to use from my assortment of JOUNJIP plastic welding rods, I called the company phone number on the package and spoke with J.R., who was very helpful. Incidentally, J.R. wasn’t in some call center in Nagpur, India. This was J.R. at JOUNJIP in West Los Angeles, California. He asked plenty of questions, provided explanations, and had me send pictures of the item I wanted to repair. Then he talked with John, who came in later, to get his opinion. Between the both of them, they provided me with the information I needed to make the necessary repair. The whole project did not go exactly as expected. The tab I welded on it was much too large and not exactly in the right place, so it broke off as I was trying to reattach it. As this was a very tiny repair, coupled with my lack of experience/skills with plastic welding, I was not really surprised. However, what I did must have been enough after the piece broke off, what was left seems to do. At any rate, the compass has been in my car for over a week now, and it isn’t dangling by the electrical connecting cord. In the end, I saved at least $50 purchasing a new compass and I found a company that backs its product with excellent customer service. So, purchase this product with the utmost confidence that it will handle your needs (well, as much as your skills will allow it to), and the full assurance that you are not alone in your plastic repair projects.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Which one is for gas tanks?**
A: All tanks are made slightly differently. Without knowing the type/specs of the tank, it is hard to say.

However, typically tanks are HDPE, LDPE, or PP. We suggest looking at the specifications of your tank to match the plastic. Most of the time it is engraved right into the tank itself.

We Highly recommend using JounJip Stainless Steel reinforcing mesh with your weld to make it more stable. If you have any further questions or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out to us at Help@madorganizer.com

**Q: Does this come with any kind of instructions like which pieces are made of what type of plastic?**
A: The first bullet in the listing you will find the different types of plastic.
7 Different Plastic Types- Covers the 7 most used plastics- Polypropylene, Polyurethene, ABS, Polyethelene, TPO, Nylon, and Polycarbonate.
Here are the abbreviations as well in corresponding order.
Neutral Colors- clear(PU) black(PP) beige(ABS) white(PE) grey(TPO) ivory(PA) clear(PC)

On the package, it explains common uses. You can also reach out to us with any technical questions at Help@MadOrganizer.com

**Q: Are these the rods that are used with Jounjip Plastic Welder Boot Tips?**
A: Yes, These particular rods work very well with the boot tips because they can be fed through the hole to melt the plastic.

However, They can also be used with the triangle tips. It depends on your preference.

**Q: Which would be used for a kayak**
A: Some manufacturers will print the triangle with the number and abbreviation (ie: PP or HDPE) right on the kayak. Most common symbols are shown in the listing and the bullets above explain the full names (ie: Polypropelene for PP). Others you may have to find on the website or contact the Kayak manufacturer.
