I don't know if it's psychological or physiological, but the thing either takes my mind off the pain for a while or it actually works. It has an honored place at my bedside and has now entered my pile of voodoo tricks to alleviate my chronic migraines. It's small and has a round side and a flat side. One of the many facets of my migraines is my inability to get my head/neck in "just the right position". This little guy can sometimes help to tremendously. My 2-year-old calls the white pin-buttons "crabs". They are hard, little circles and are about the size of a quarter. They aren't needle-sharp, but they are about like the tip of an old #2 pencil.
