When I opened the package, the chemical smell was overpowering. Perhaps this will fade with time, but if it doesn't, I'll be sending the book back. A bigger problem is that almost every page has a place for photographs, which would not be a problem except that in the middle of the space for them is a notation of what they should be ("Baby's first smile," for example) and the size (6x4). Some places for the pictures are for portrait and some for landscape orientation. What if you don't have a portrait orientation picture of the baby eating the first solid food? And some spaces are for bigger photos, such as 6x8 for birthdays. Perhaps these notations can be covered with stickers, but I don't like how rigid the format is. And the last problem is that looseleaf pages tear away from the binding easily, so if your little one likes to "read" the story of his or her life, you'll probably end up with lots of pages that are no longer attached.Between the horrible smell and the rigid format, this book was a disappointment. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth checking out *by E***T on Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2018* This is definitely better than some of the books out there I’ve found. I like how large it is. We have another book I like a bit better that includes questions this one does not, but the larger format allows for some things like dental chart. There are some wasted pages, like the 3 letter from the parents pages at the beginning. For me it is worth using both books we have and having a little overlap, since they are different enough. If I recall correctly, this one was a lot less mom-directed than the other one we have, which I had to go through and add Daddy references throughout, since I am not only fully involved in my child’s upbringing (stay at home dad), but I am also doing 99.9% of the scrapbooking and such, and so it’s a bit annoying when books totally exclude the fathers or treat them as an afterthought. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unisex book of firsts *by R***H on Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2017* Super cute book! It has lots of places for pictures and cute prompts that I wouldn't have thought of. It also has a little storage place in the back for keepsakes, which is a great idea!
