I've had to turn it off in order to watch movies with friends because no one can hear the dialog with it running in the room. I bought these replacement filters in July 22 and waited awhile to see how the filters performed. I am now having to wear a mask inside my home to be able to breathe without constant slobbering! Update: after writing a bad review, the company sent me all new filters and gently pointed out that a possible reason for all the whooshing noise and lack of air filtration could be that I missed removing the black foam protective packing from the carbon filter layer. I checked and that is exactly what happened. I missed the foam packing on the underside of the carbon filter. The whooshing was immediately reduced about 80%. The air in my living room already smells better and its only been 20 min. Sigh. The older I get, the more frequently my frustrations are self-created. The Pureillusion company problem solvers were very sweet about the whole thing and did not ask me to change my review. Hopefully, they will allow me to return the new filters they sent me. This has turned out to be a great product at a good price.
