I ate one chip and the disappointment was epic. Ate another one very slowly to try to pin down the taste and figure out what went wrong. And trust me, it went wrong! 1)They taste stale, but the best by date is more than 6 months away, 2)They most noticeable flavor note is raw flour, and 3) They only have a very, very faint tomato taste, but definitely no ketchup flavor. Not even a hint of umami, sweetness, or acid which are basically the flavors that make ketchup sing. Checked ingredients and they do contain tomato powder, so maybe they at least tried? Save yourself the money and the frustration and buy the Herr’s brand ketchup chips instead.
