The big question- why would they bridge? The sleeve/collar seems 2 B aluminum or some lightweight alloy. GearIt claims these R pure copper but when I placed a strong magnet against one, their was an attraction 2 the magnet alibet not a strong one. My understanding is that copper is not magnetic, hence no effect on an old penny. This was important 2 me that they B 100% copper as I am constructing 3 speaker cables (2 mains/1 cntr) consisting of VERY moderately priced, highly rated Canare 4s11 four conductor wire (two 14 gauge conductors combined = 11awg per terminal). Object was 2 prove 2 an audiophile friend that a set of cables could B made for under $150 that could sound reasonably good compared 2 his overpriced $950 snake oil wires. Bk 2 ur ? which is: Y worry bout a pos/ neg cross ? U should only B connecting/disconnecting plugs/spades/bare wires with the power off. **Q: Why are these marketed as banana plugs? Two screws rather than one make for a 100 percent secure connection that will never change.
