This is a great deal, but they restrict your purchase to only 3 pans, which is not mentioned in the ad. Very frustrating, especially when you have more than three horses!!! **Q: is this flat on one side? can't tell from the pic but it looks like it** A: No this feeder pan is 360 degree round. Also heavy enough that it probably won't 'wander away.' One of my horses likes to pick it up and throw it around, but my Rottweiler doesn't try to move it. I use it as a water pan for her, and she sits in it when she gets too hot. My Corgis use it as a wading pool. This pan is definitely multi-use and durable. **Q: is it fine for horses?** A: Absolutely fine for horses. I fed my old pony from one of these pans during the later years of her 36 year long life. It was easier for her than eating from a bucket clipped to the barn wall, and more tip-proof than a bucket on the ground stabilized inside of a tire. **Q: What does this mean: "Immediately bounces back to shape"? They melt in the sun? Not a good sign for food or water for any living creatures.** A: Well, there’s your answer. If you don’t think it would be good to put food in for any living creature, don’t buy it.
