Not powdery, but they are crushed smaller than I generally crush them myself. The best thing about getting cacao beans is that smell when opening the bag. This one did not disappoint. I make a cacao liqueur with them. I am already getting more from these beans than from the ones I bought from another company, and there were no stray shell pieces to pick out. I will be ordering all of my nibs from NOW.
