Ordered it twice and it wouldn't work for garment dashcam. Might work if using for a garmin map device, though I don't think it would hold up **Q: will this fit the Magellan MiVue 480D?** A: sorry ,no. One needs to Know the size of the ball to make that choice. but this product does work well we the Garmin Dash Cam one or two model, suction cup works very nicely I like the clear silicone cup leaves no marks on the windsheild, when you remove it to hide the dash cam. NOTE: This unit did come with two diffrent size balls that may help you out. **Q: Does this come with a smooth disk that can be put on the dashboard for the suction cup to attach to it?** A: No it doesn't. I've used the suction cup mounts in past and it seems that you are periodically having to reattach them and having your gps fall or dangle from the power cord. This was simple to install and remove, and unlike the other vent mount I have, it doesn't have the hook on the back that requires you to insert a thin blade and pry up to remove. I did find that it is most secure when pushed all the way back into the face of the vent to be most secure. Depending on how you mount it, and where, you may impede some of the air flow from the vent, and pushed tight against it, you may find it limits the amount of adjustment you have with directing the air flow. All-in-all, it does exactly what I wanted it to do.
