The edge is well ground with no roughness and it's razor sharp. The blade is very thick and while sometimes that can be a disadvantage in a knife, this one still manages to do the tasks that I'd usually use a thinner blade for. All in all a lovely addition to my ever growing collection, but definitely the one that spends the most time in my pocket. Well worth the money. Update: while I still feel that all the things above are true, I have to add that for "Damascus" steel which is supposed to be extremely hard, this knife will lose its edge remarkably easily.
