I wasn't in love with the design of the can, however. when this pomade first touched my hair, I could tell this stuff was different than all the other's I have tried... It molds your hair however you want it ( I want the don draper/ madmen look) The fact that this stuff is affordable just makes this a must have. I will probably never buy a different pomade. this is my go to. I just want to hoard hundreds of cans of this stuff so I will never run out! Review: one of my favorite pomades - excellent hold, great sheen, and a very musky manly scent. I use this alone to pull my hair tight and get that Don Drapper look from mad men. I also use it with Dax Green and Gold. I use the High and Tight on the part and sides and the Green and Gold on the top it looks fantastic. This product is made of beeswax and oil so keep in mind it does not wash out easily. But you also can not achieve that "classic look" with a gel pomade or waterbased pomade...no mater what they will dry up through out the day...this product will look sheen and shiney all day. But it is tough to get out. Dax claims their shampoo removes it but the shampoo reviews say otherwise. Suggestions?** A: I normally go fairly light with DAX High & Tight Awesome Hold and if I really want to get it 100% out of my hair I normally just shampoo twice with my everyday shampoo. YMMV depending on how much pomade you use and your shampoo. **Q: How long should i leave the wax in my hair or i have to wash my hair everyday ? can i sleep with this product? what about hair loss?** A: Petroleum based products can remain in hair a few days before the hair gets dirty enough that you want to wash it out. Some say that years of pomade use can contribute to hair loss as it tends to clog hair folicels. So you want to not over do it. Give your scalp a break by throughly washing and switching for a while to a water soluble pomade which is less prone to clogging pours. You can sleep with pomades and if you use a lot you may want to use a doo rag to avoid having your pillows getting greasy. **Q: I've been using dax wave and groom in the orange and red can and noticed that sometimes it's thick and sometimes not. Is this high and tight thicker?** A: High and Tight is not thick, it's solid. You really have to work it in your palms to get it ready to spread in your hair. Once in your hair it doesn't come out unless you want it to. I tend to pair this product with Royal Crown Pomade to get the perfect balance of pliability, shine and hold for my hair. As with other petroleum-based pomades, this product will NOT wash out of your hair with ease. But, hey, that is what you're loking for in a classic pomade. All-in-all, I highly recommend this product. UPDATE 4/8/2013: After using this product for some time I have an additional observation that merits inclusion here. Namely, Dax High & Tight Awesome Hold is much more difficult to wash from your hair than every other pomade I have tried. True, the hold is a great medium-heavy hold, but washing it out completely is a nightmare when compared to other high-hold pomades like Murrays. I still plan to use the product, but more sparingly in the future.
