## Overview

The Plastic Slide Didgeridoo by Charlie McMahon is a 100% Australian-made instrument that combines portability with versatility. With ten drone notes and a lightweight design, it’s perfect for musicians of all ages, whether at home or on the go.

## Description

Suitable for beginners and performers alike, the Didjeribone is a lightweight and versatile instrument. Weighing less than 0.5kg or 1 pound, the Didjeribone uses a minimum of materials so it can be played in a variety of positions, and is unlikely to break or cause damage if it is dropped which makes it perfect for kids! The Didjeribone slides effortlessly between keys (ranging from low B to high G), but does not allow air to escape when fully extended. The rubber mouthpiece makes for easy contact with the lips and is the optimal size for ease of play, and does not require the wax often used to made wood didgeridoos playable. The flared bell gives the Didjeribone a brighter and louder sound than other linear shaped didgeridoos. A long-standing tried and tested professional instrument, the Didjeribone is now in it's updated and improved 3rd generation. IMPORTANT NOTE: The key markings on the Didjeribone are not pitch (Hz) accurate, as the actual pitch will vary slightly depending on the player. Compensating for this is easy and simple, just adjusting the slide distance or us a simple guitar tuner to calculate actual slide difference between your playing and the note markers on the didge.

Review: Would recommend to a friend, or an enemy's neighbour. - What a fun little didge! (or big didge, depending on the slide position). It's got a rich tone and an interesting personality. The backpressure is fantastic for what it is. Obviously the lower you go the less backpressure, but it's still not bad at all. I put a tuner on and it goes all the way down to A1 with the slide out all the way, but you can't rapidly access it. I would highly recommend this for beginners over other didgeridoos as the highest position provides a very easy learning platform. There is no need for a cruel beeswax mouthpiece either. The rubber one provided feels good. No air escapes around the gap betwen the slides. I like that it's supporting an actual artist (Charlie McMahon) as opposed to a musical instrument company. He pioneered the invention of the slide didgeridoo. If money were no object, you could do better by getting a carbony slide didgeridoo like the one Dayphid Sens plays, but those cost thousands of dollars. Someone commented that the bell fell off. I think this is by design since it makes it easier to clean. It hasn't come off during playing, and I've tried some rather violent movements with it. My only complaint is that I can't reach the lowest positions quickly with my arms. Maybe I'll have to chop them off and get an extension like Charlie's, hehe.
Review: Two Stars - Within 15 minutes of playing this Didjeribone, the flared bell fell off. Update: At the lower end, extended to the lowest tuning, there is an air gap between the two plastic pipes.

I was dubious because, plastic, right? This thing sounds waaay better than I thought it would AND you can tune to other instruments!
