As with any of these types of things, it takes a little trial and error with your microwave oven to figure out the best time to use, how much water to spritz on it, if any, and so on. It's a pretty lavender color, soft fabric, good shape and size, smells like lavender when heated, and best of all, it is heavy. It has to be gently laid onto the body, not dropped onto someone's sore back, that should go without saying. The weight is necessary to cause the heat to transfer to the body. If it was very light, it would not work. So if you are in so much pain that a sheet hurts, don't use this. But for the rest of us, it's a very nice hot pack to use alone or in conjunction with any additional bodywork, and, for in-home personal use, it beats shelling out several hundred dollars for a professional hydrocollator and moist hot packs. If you are a professional massage therapist, buy the hydrocollator and moist hot packs. You won't be sorry.
