It stays on the area it is applied to, an doesn't run off as the liquid does. I use it at night for my cracked fingertips (a perpetual problem of mine, for decades of winters), I then apply a bandaid and gloves and sleep like that. It really helps -- but then again-- another day of working on my computer brings the cracked fingertips back. I sometimes keep wearing the bandages and the gloves - which help a great deal - but the gloves usually get in my way -- just happy that this formula DOES bring relief to my cracked and sore fingertips.
