I selected this one after purchasing and returning three other chess sets from desertcart. The wooden ones from BCBESTCHESS were either too small or too heavy and the one from stonecraft had a really foul chemical smell to the mat/board. I selected this one for three reasons and if they're the same for you, you should buy this one. PROS 1. The board is FIDE regulation size and doesn't smell. 2. I needed a set to study and improve my openings and endgame and these are the perfect size for that. Not too big, not too small. You can see the squares and where the pieces can move. It's not too small like the wooden sets. 3. The pieces themselves are very good. The plastic is of good quality, it almost feels like marble and its weight is just right 4. The sleeve for the mat and pieces are nice. You can carry this to games and events. I've played with this on a friend's set in a cafeteria. It's ideal for players to play and an audience to watch 5. The shape of the pieces are nicer than most chess sets out there 6. It's a little expensive but you can get a lot out of it if you're a serious chess player. 7. It's the best one for studying games and variations. Sure, most people do that on a computer, but this is the perfect set if you want to study from books/play 'human' chess CONS 1.
