I will cut it in half, hem that side, and use it as a drop cloth when I work on my acrylic paintings. I washed and dryed it first to remove the sizing. [This does NOT have a horrible odor, but I have a sensitive nose :o)]. It came out softer and did not lose it's 4x12 shape. I was able to fold it in quarters and all the edges matched. You may not want to wash it to retain some of its body. I like it as a drop cloth to catch any wayward paint as I work on my canvases. I don't think this will block spilling a quart of paint on it, possibly only small spills, drops and splatters. I would buy again. The vendor sent me an email to see if I was satisfied with the product.
