I only wish I had known of these eight years ago when I had new steps put in and had a rug company place their treads on my new stairs. They had glued and stapled the carpet treads onto the wood. The treads needed replacing and I had quite a job taking the original ones off. There were roughly 30 staples on each carpet tread! These treads were a breeze to put down. I made two templates for each side to help center the tread on each step. I had the templates marked to know where I wanted the front to be located on the step. It took less than an hour to place 12 treads on my split level stairway. The carpet is soft and cushioned with nice edging all around. They are definitely slip resistant as I tried several times to move one with both feet…they did not budge. These carpet treads look so much better than what I had there. Unlike those, these are stable, do not move. I have an older German Shepard for whom the others have slipped under her feet - kind of horrible. These on the other hand are high quality, and have adhesive that stays in place even when removed and put back in place. Finally feel confident she can go up and down no problem!!
