I cut a semicircle 2cm long where it folds, (for my thumb) 4cm from the end and hemmed all cut edges so it doesn't unravel. Very comfortable to wear. Remember that it will get shorter when you put it on, so cut long. This size (D) fits my lower leg pretty well but I’m going to have to buy the next size up as well. Washable, but as yet I don’t know how many wash cycles it will take before becoming unusable.
