The original filters were two separate pieces made from different types of foam to purify the water in the fountain. These new filters however are one piece of two different colors and both parts look exactly the same. I've found small black pieces floating in the water that appear to be micro pieces of foam. Since changing to these new filters my cats don't drink from the fountain as much as they use too. I believe the foreign pieces in the water to be the culprit.
