Wondering if it can be used to separate a tank to house two male bettas....** A: I am currently using this divider to separate two male Betas and it works perfectly. They have never even acted like they know the other is there. **Q: How do you trim the divider to size?** A: I didn't have to trim mine. It just fit in my tank (a little too small). The material it's made out of can be trimmed with a scissors. **Q: would it work to separate fry from adult fish** A: As long as you make sure that you have secured it so it's flush to the tank it should work. **Q: Can you still put lid/tank light on tank while using this divider?** A: Yes, as long as your lid/tank light are of the "usual" configuration and don't hang down past the top lip of your tank. Too, the plastic can be cut with kitchen shears to adjust the height.
