The melolin patch which goes over the wound is non-wound adhering, but even so, we use the Inadine patches as well, which negates this problem, but again, it's not a problem with these dressings. It does takes practice putting them on as they are so sticky and if they stick to themselves. you might as well give up and get another. If you think of them a bit like clingfilm, only take one side of the dressing cover off and try and apply this first. I've always found if you bend slightly wherever you are going to put this dressing, it adheres so well and you don't have to worry about it stretching etc. They are hard to get off, but that's what you want. A good soak in the shower usually helps.
