I want to add these to a costume but im afraid they will lose their magnetic properties** A: These are ferrite magnets which are also known as permanent magnets. They retain their magnetism very well and will probably only lose 10% in their whole lifetime and they will last many years. **Q: Will the magnets scratch my fridge? Specifically a stainless steel fridge?** A: Yes, there is a possibility these magnets could scratch your SS fridge. It would depend on how you removed them. If you 'slide' them off, I believe they would scratch. If you lift them straight up, more than likely not. Nevertheless, if you're using these to attach something to the fridge, (photos, papers, etc.) and the magnet is not actually touching the true surface of the fridge, then they shouldn't scratch. **Q: Are theses ceramic magnets?** A: No they are not ceramic.
