The added flash of the gold is nice but time will only tell how long it lasts. I will however be inclined to replace the gold flash if they were ever to get worn off. Not a whole lot to say about a 12lb DR ball. These are nice, definitely feel that the extra money spent wasn’t for a waste.

I have two Scotty 1101 down riggers and use these exclusively...I have one extra as a spare. They work great and the tail keeps the line from twisting and causing problems. I use these in Alaska where heavy tides demand a heavy weight. The heavy plastic coating keeps the damage to the ball to a minimum with everyday use. Highly recommend.

Very high quality vinyl coating. I was immediately impressed with the quality of coating these weights have. The added flash of the gold is nice but time will only tell how long it lasts. It’s a piece of lead!!! I can now go deep and keep the line from dragging. 16# is a beast but over 120’ is what I need for the Kings out in Puguet Sound and off shore of Washington.
