Here's what I don't like: The plastic holder for the glass- as I expected- can hold water in between the plastic and the glass. This can harbor mold as a result. Also, the plastic itself is not desirable- metal or glass would be healthier materials. Especially when putting plastic near heat, that is particularly of concern from a toxicity standpoint. Having plastic at the top of the hot coffee is not something I recommend. Fortunately, the metal doohinkey from a previous French press fits this product, so I was able to address that concern. Also, this is only about $5 less than French presses that are all glass and metal, so I would opt for those over this item. What I like: The glass is sturdy. This is functional. It works interchangeably with my French press doodads. We use French presses for 3 different things a day, so this has had quite a work out, to which it has held up well. Would I buy it?
