I prefer soft sided bags but the Samsonite bag I was looking at did not expand and I think a bag of this size should be able to expand. This one expands and it’s light enough that even packed to the gills it will prob stay under 50 lbs. Did I mention it’s light? It has compartments inside that zip up which helps keep your stuff organized but if you have something bulky (like a dozen bagels, there’s a reason I need an expandable bag) you will have to plan where to fit them. It worked wonderfully for me.
