When it first came out the paste was thick and the hold was strong. Back in the 2000’s I would sort of spike my hair up with this and it would hold em up just fine. Today, the paste is creamier, lighter and thinner. No shot at holding up spikes anymore. But that’s fine with me cause those bad boy days of spiky hair is thankfully over. I just comb it over with a part now. And because Surf Hair is lighter and creamier now, I can comb it through my hair. Before, that would be difficult. So now, I mix it with another product that has stronger hold and I’m still getting that same matte beachy texture with the hold I want.
