I collect fountain pens, and I used several different pens, nibs, and inks for my trial. This paper performed admirably. I got very decent shading with some shading inks. Did not try any sheening inks, so I can't speak to how it will handle those yet. My trial was with the A6 size. The lines are (I think) 7mm wide on that size notebook; a decent size. I understand that on the A5 notebook, the lines are 9mm wide. Looking forward to trying that one next; just ordered one.I used M, B, and fat stub nibs. All of the nibs felt great on the paper. Smooth surface, but not too smooth. Had just enough tooth to keep my nibs from sliding around. It was very enjoyable to write on this paper. I also tried a couple of shimmer inks, and they looked great. The paper is a very light cream color;; not yellowish, more like ivory. The slight cream color of the paper did not distort the colors of the inks much at all. It was very close to writing on white. The paper is thick and opaque enough to write on both sides if desired.Recently a couple of other brand notebooks that I liked were discontinued, so I've been looking for a quality replacement notebook. So far, this is the best one I've found. Overall a great notebook for fountain pens.
