- Box contents: you will receive approx. 100 g sphagnum moss, it swells after absorbing water. It helps plants retain water while hiding the dirt, pure, natural, clean materials. This carnivorous plant soil mix can be mixed with peat and perlite to improve the breathability and moisture retention of the substrate.
- Premium Material: Sphagnum moss is high-quality, pure, natural dry moss, contains no artificial dyes, it has good water retention and drainage, excellent ventilation, contains various nutrients, not easily spoiled, can be used for a long time, and it is not necessary to update all materials when changing pots.
- Hydroponic flowers and plants: Fill the vase with peat moss, soak the roots of the plants in water and the roots will grow naturally along with the moss. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this for sure usable for carnivorous plants??**
A: Not recommend for carnivorous plants.  Water was dirty and tds measured at more than 250 ppm after soaking with distilled water.

**Q: Is this good for propagation?**
A: it's perfect for that, it's sterile and retains moisture but is light and airy.

**Q: Can I cover floral foam with this for a pampas hanging arrangement?**
A: I don’t think I would try that. It’s very tightly compacted & tends to come apart in small pieces.  It is not “sheet” like. You could glue it for an artificial arrangement I suppose

**Q: Does this mix contain peat? I’m looking for a peat-free product**
A: all spagnum moss is basically fresh peat moss. what's sold as "peat moss" is this species of moss, but dug up from centuries-old bogs and has turned into coir-like fluff. they are from the same plant but behave very differently. this is light and springy new whole blond fronds, regular peat moss is heavy, powdery, brown and compacted tiny filaments and basically "filler" in soil mixes. coconut coir is a good, sustainable substitute for peat, but there's really nothing like spagnum for plant health.

My orchids love this Moss it's easy to mix excellent for the plant health very versatile the water absorption is great. It looks like you're getting a very small amount but that's just because it's compressed once you add water it turns into a lot more.
