Standard brooch pins can be tricky** A: Assuming a felt backer, i would say Yes, if poked thru the backer and secured prior to the backer being affixed to the Brooch. with this in mind, a tack pin with a larger, maybe 10mm head, and a longer shank might work better. These Tack shanks have a 4.5mm head on a 8mm long shank. something with a 10mm head on a 8-10mm shank might work better, as most felt is 2-3mm thick. this is dependent on the backer material you use of course... **Q: Do these tacks leave holes in the fabric once they're removed? Tack pins I have used before have damaged the fabric.** A: I believe it depends on the fabric.
