**Q: Is this made in America?**
A: Yes it is US MADE.It is real military issue

**Q: Does this have a shelf life? What is expiring on this compass?**
A: If it is genuine, will say Model 3H on the cover, then open the cover. 
On the inside there will be a date code. The first number is the year and the second number is the month of manufacture.
The last number will say 77 if it was not made for a military contract. The tritium cells have about a 12 year life after the manufacture date.

**Q: where is this compass made?**
A: MADE IN THE USA.THIS IS THE GENUINE MILITARY COMPASS

**Q: Illumination says good for 12 years, these were manufactured in 2001, the illumination expired in 2013? Picture on Amazon shows manufactured 11/19?**
A: That’s probably just the compass that is displayed manufacturing date. Mine was manufactured in June of 2020. When you get your compass, the inside lid will have 3 sets of numbers ex.(## ## ##) first set is last 2 digits of the year, second set is the month, third set is lot number. Mine is 20 06 77, so June of 2020. 77 is a generic number which means it was made outside a government contract.

My grandson is in the Army and he said this is exactly the same as the units they are issued in the field. The only difference is the units they are issued have been used a thousand times in the field and are pretty beat up. He now has his own.

Appears to be the same as the one issued to me in 1968. I lent my issued compass and it never found its way home. Although pricey this is a great replacement.

    Good product, but not tridium as advertised

It’s a good replica of the military M2 Lensatic compass and it does what I need it to do.  I use it when I go hiking and hunting, and having done a decade in the military where land navigation was a large part of my job I’m pretty pleased with this compass.However, only 3 stars for the false advertising (READ blatant lying) about it being a tridium night arrow.  It’s just regular glow In the dark stuff that you have to charge via the sun, whereas tridium is a radioactive isotope that creates its own glow.  Doesn’t work great at night without a flashlight
