Some respond to aspirin, some to ibuprofen, some to acetaminophen. I have found that one magnesium salicylate tablet and one ibuprofen combined work to relieve tension headaches and muscle pain. (Your results may vary.)I started using magnesium salicylate about 25 years ago when I read an article in a consumer magazine that rated the name-brand version as "effective but expensive" for back-aches. When I found the Momentum brand for less, I tried it and was pleased with the results. Momentum changed its name to Percogesic, a few years back. But beware, they sell two different pain relievers under that name - one is acetaminophen and the "backache relief" version is magnesium salicylate.Lately, this has been hard to find. I suspect it is because the name-brand version was sued by the FDA for claiming to be "superior" to other pain relievers. It is only "superior" for some people. The name brand was removed from many stores while they sorted out the legal mess. As a result, there was no place to put the "alternate" brand, so many stores stopped stocking either one. I was very pleased to find this affordably-priced 3-pack here on-line.Since this is a salicylate, you don't want to over-do it because it can cause stomach problems.
