It is strong enough for protection against light impacts and moist or dusty environments. Mine came branded with Cedar Mill Fine Firearms clearly emblazoned in contrasting lettering on the top face. Casual observers will read it as “GUN INSIDE! Call the police or steal it!” You will need a hair dryer that produces significant heat to melt the strong adhesive and to peel the plastic badge from the lid. DO NOT use a petroleum solvent to release the glue residue. It will instantly melt the plastic and ruin the case. I ordered a replacement case, doubling my cost. I still like the case. This time I will test the case with alcohol instead of a petroleum-based solvent. I also submerged it in the bathtub for several minutes with a weight on top. My pistol fits perfectly with two magazines and a box of ammo for those trips to the shooting range. The foam was easy to customize and everything stays in place nicely. The case is in no way bulky, but rather its simple and sleek. The quality is nice. The latch feels solid and secure. There is a seal around the edge so the case is waterproof which is perfect for storage. The strap is good, but I will probably remove it because I don't plan on using this case for anything other than storage and going to the range. It does have holes for a lock, but they're not big enough for a large one.
