For anyone that regularly wears dress shirts I would compare the size 3x to an 18 1/2 35/36 dress shirt. Material isn't too thick but it's not so thin where you see your skin underneath. If you are hesitant, I would recommend buying this shirt.

A: I’m 5’7” and weigh 180, broad chest (40”).. large fits great for me. Hopefully that gives you some helpful  perspective.

**Q: Looking to fit 181/2 36/37 dress shirts  what size shirt should I order**
A: I’m normally an XL guy (17.5 x 34/35) , but wound up ordering a large for this shirt.  The Large fit well and was a trim fit and not baggy which is what I specifically wanted since it was for under a suit.    It wasn’t a long tailed shirt though and didn’t have much to tuck in.   I’d say a 2XL would be a safe bet but consider a 2XL Long if you’re a long torso
