Review: Recommend highly - tasted exactly like Hormel regular canned chili - If you grew up eating canned chili, even if now you can’t or won’t eat that for various reasons, but maybe you secretly miss the taste and convenience, buy this. It’s vegan but it tastes exactly like the canned chili with meat you used to eat. Exactly!! Not low sodium but not insanely bad. And yummy! And so so easy. Throw together a little fast coleslaw. Chop up some cabbage, add a little caraway, salt and pepper, and a little sour cream or mayo, boom, you have coleslaw. Maybe if you are weird like me add a little pickle relish? Chili from a can that makes you feel a little guilty, but is vegan and familiar and delicious, and fast home made coleslaw, boom, dinner.

**Q: How is this different from Hormel's original "Vegetarian with Beans" vegetarian chili?**
A: This version is gluten-free the original vegetarian is not and there are small tweaks to the ingredient list. For example the list reflects more tomatoes and less beans so the texture is less dense than the original. Both use soy protein.

**Q: where is the nutrition panel for THIS actual product? Meaning the entirely plant-based product.**
A: Ha ha, I know what u mean, it's not there on some cans .......  ironically , I have received same product on different orders , with the panel u speak of........

**Q: Vegan or vegetarian?**
A: Vegan:  no eggs and no dairy products.  Only soy is listed as a possible ingredient that may be concern to some consumers.

**Q: How does it have cholesterol on the label if its vegan?**
A: It's not vegan, never claims to be. It's vegetarian. I would guess the cholesterol is coming from the soy protein concentrate or the broth.

Better than their vegetarian chili, which I don't like. The vegetable protein pieces are good sized and chewy. Very tasty. There are a good amount of beans and they have good texture. There is something in it, however, that has a mushy texture, but not sure what that is (tomato pieces?). I don't like that at all. The base is thick and helps to make this a filling chili. Price-wise, this is the best vegetarian chili for the money I have found. Amy's is better but not worth the difference in price. I will probably only buy Amy's in the future for vegan chili dogs. This will be my goto chili from now on.
