## Description

Mobil ATF 3309 is an exceptionally high performance lubricant that meets original equipment manufacturer's specifications for use in certain slip-controlled lock-up automatic transmissions. Mobil ATF 3309 is recommended for use in transmissions requiring fluids of JWS 3309 or GM 9986195 quality levels. It is also recommended for service fill applications where Toyota T-IV or T4, T-III or T3 are called for. Please refer to the owner's manual for proper fluid requirements. The unique formulation of Mobil ATF 3309 is designed to provide excellent lubrication of transmission in specified slip-controlled lock-up automatic transmissions. These outstanding performance capabilities translate into significant operational benefits, including: Excellent lubricating characteristics for quiet operation and smooth shifting in approved transmissions, controlled friction properties for smooth and efficient transmission of power across all normal temperature ranges, helps to control transmission shudder and provide excellent vehicle drivability, helps to extend transmission life based on excellent wear control, long fluid life based on excellent oxidation resistance, excellent viscosity stability (high viscosity index) to help ure adequate lubrication without excessive thinning in severe high-temperature service or thickening at low starting temperatures, resistance to foaming, super protection against rusting and corrosion, compatibility with synthetic rubber seal materials. Automatic transmissions should be checked for proper fluid levels at regular intervals, and the fluid should be changed at manufacturer recommended intervals. However, this may vary due to your vehicle's operating condition. Some manufacturer's recommend more frequent changes of transmission fluid under severe driving conditions, such as heavy traffic, hot weather and trailer pulling.

A: Yes, this is what Saab 9-5 requires, any JWS-3309 approved fluid is good.

A: My research suggested Mobil 3309 is an exact replacement for the expensive Volvo brand transmission fluid.  I drained and filled the transmission on 2007 SX70 with no problem.  Robert

A: Sorry I honestly do not know... I only know it works for Volvo AWD models.

**Q: 2013 mazda 6 with a 3.7 litre engine.  will this work for the atf?**
A: Check your owner's manual for recommended fluid type.  Then check Mobil's website to see if the 3309 is compatible based on Mobil's info.  Type 3309 is a special fluid but very good. I used it because my car has an Aisin 6-spd FWD trans and meets the Ford specification for fluid.

If you have an Aisin-Warner transmission in your P2 ('01-'07ish) Volvo that calls for JWS3309 transmission fluid, this is the stuff. I have learned my lesson the hard way over many years of owning these cars now—they want this original, mineral oil based formulation of the JWS3309 spec. They don't want a universal synthetic, or some improved premium brand formulation. They want actual 3309 fluid as it was designed on day one. Volvo fluid, Aisin IV fluid, Toyota Type IV fluid, Idemitsu Type TLS (NOT TLS-LV), or Mobil 3309, all of which are the original batch of 3309 fluids. No, they're not fancy, they're not "premium," they're not synthetic, whatever. They work and they will not gradually lead your transmission into disrepair, as the others seem to. The others will appear to work at first, maybe even work better—but you will slide more quickly (tens of thousands rather than hundreds of thousands of miles) into hard shifts, sticking valves, and ultimately transmission failure. Just stick to bog standard 3309.
