Review: Major upgrade - If youre like me and upgrading the spindle on your cnc, youll probably be recommended this a lot, and honestly theres a reason for that, the standard motor on the cnc is 7k RPM, this is 20K and so a major improvement, if you want to feel the full effects of that, this will need its own power supply as it takes a fair bit, but it can still be ran at speed without just having less torque to it, the nut and collet provided is alright quality but safe yourself the hastle and buy one of each individually, youre buying a spindle, not those parts and so may be slightly off and make noise, which is why Ive given it a 4/5 on accuracy, as the vibration from that makes it majorly louder, as well as the added speed of course, but still having this spindle at such a low price has made milling softer materials so so much easier and better, with it even milling aluminium at a push (this is all without its own power supply like I said). So overall this spindle will get your job done, and done well at that, it is still a budget spindle, but is a damn good one and I totally recommend it. Ve sure to write Sainsmart for the bracket - it's a perfect fit and works with the end stops. Be *very* careful when removing the Z-axis bearings. They are 35mm bearings and are impossible to find. In fact, you should buy LM8SUU (short 17mm) bearings x 4 in case you mess up and some balls come out of the bearings. Those are easier to find. Print the bracket at least 80% solid, reassemble your machine, and you're in business. No modifications are required to install it. I simply removed the stock unit and replaced it with this. I'm now able to cut twice as quickly. Very pleased with this purchase. Please note that this spindle is loud.
