We eventually turned around and he pulled full force the entire trip back to the car he ended up hurting the muscles in my back, shoulder and neck(disabled vet with spinal issues). The next day we took him for another walk around our neighborhood and the same thing happened, pulling full force. Today I tried to walk him in the backyard and it didn’t work, just pulling full force. I’d known about these collars since I was a kid and my parents had used them on our dogs growing up but I thought the collars were cruel and for lazy people lol. I looked online on how to fix this new walking problem we had and people kept recommending these Herm Sprenger prong collars. I was extremely reluctant but decided to watch a bunch of videos and it was amazing how much the dogs would change their walking behavior by simply switching to this collar. I decided to get one, it showed up the same day(today) at 10pm. I removed a few links to make it fit properly and took him for a walk, it was amazing. He had originally been a good walker before getting out of control but with this collar even his old “good walking” wasn’t this good. It’s now like he has power steering and brakes lol. I stop he stops, I walk he walks right next to me. I give a gentle pull and he sits. No random sniffing or momentarily forgetting we’re on a walk. This collar is so simple yet amazing. The 1% it doesn't help with is called......bunny rabbits. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wish I had got these collars years ago *by A***. on 14 October 2025* I was one of those people that thought that prong collars "hurt" the dog and so was very reluctant to try it, even though two of my three dogs are huge pullers. I foolishly had both these dogs in harnesses, thinking that it protected them from doing themselves harm with their pulling. Both dogs are stocky and low to the ground and harnesses just encouraged them to pull even more. It became impossible to walk all three without actually endangering myself with how crazy they pulled and going all directions. I decided to try these prong collars and HOLY SMOKES, not only to the collars not hurt the dogs--they barely even notice them--but the insane pulling stopped immediately! It's kind of crazy. The dogs just can't pull as hard. Period. It's that simple. It is very easy for me to check them with a tiny tug if they do try to pull, but mostly they just check themselves. The collar just tells them with a squeeze when they are pulling too hard or getting too far ahead. My 40 lb puppy tried to jump on someone that she met on the street and made herself yelp because of the pinch this collar gave her, but guess what?? She hasn't done it since. And without it, I would have been yelling "no" just to be ignored by her. My walks with these guys has become so much more enjoyable! And much less embarrassing. I just wish I would have done it sooner. We went for years with our "yank and pull" basset, but she is 80% better with this collar. Just a note, the instructions say you have to take this apart to get it off, but that is nuts, it is way too hard to take apart and put back together.
