Louisville Vegan Jerky Company was started in my home kitchen back in 2012. Having spent some time in Oahu as a child, I was craving manapua. Using my mom's old recipe, I substituted baked soy for the pork and popped my seasoned protein in the oven. I was busy preparing the dough and chatting with friends when the smell of chargrilled meat hit my nose. "Toe-y!" I screamed at my three-legged dog, Tofu "I forgot to set a timer!" The barbequed soy protein was overdone, super chewy, and absolutely delicious. Tofu agreed. I headed straight to the local bar where I passed around bags of my newly discovered jerky to a full patio of hip Louisville beer drinkers. Within minutes, everyone was as excited as I was. They devoured the fortuitous first batch and asked for more. Where could they buy it? What was it called? And the best part...none of them even knew it was vegan. Today, Louisville Vegan Jerky is sold in stores all over America, but we still make each bag the same old way- in small batches, by hand, and with freshly sourced Kentucky ingredients. Review: Unbelievably Addicting Jerky! - Recently, I bought Louisville jerky set of 10 of Sweet & Smoky Carolina. To be honest, I never had tried out this jerky before. I was curious because I tried different vegan jerkys from the different brands and unfortunately I did not want to order those brands again. I know it was risky for me to purchase a set of 10 for my first time. I can always donate them if I don't like any of them. This jerky partied wild in my mouth once I tried it my first time! I couldn't stop snacking the whole bag on its own. I told myself to control myself while knowing that I still had 9 more bags to go. The other day I decided to add the next bag to my soup. I was like, "WOAH!" It blew my mind because my soup with this jerky got taken to the next level. It was more delicious than without the jerky. I couldn't stop devouring the whole soup that I prepared for worth a week! I am not a fan of salads, so I think including the jerky in salads will help me want to eat salads again. I even did not know if it was real meat or fake meat. I am easily full once I finish consuming 1 bag. It is soft to chew. This flavor is quite strong. It has a great combination of sweetness, saltiness, and smokiness. The jerky is really good! The only and thing I wish is that the jerky had a warning label on their bags.

Recently, I bought Louisville jerky set of 10 of Sweet & Smoky Carolina. To be honest, I never had tried out this jerky before. I was curious because I tried different vegan jerkys from the different brands and unfortunately I did not want to order those brands again. I know it was risky for me to purchase a set of 10 for my first time. I can always donate them if I don't like any of them. This jerky partied wild in my mouth once I tried it my first time! I couldn't stop snacking the whole bag on its own. I told myself to control myself while knowing that I still had 9 more bags to go. The other day I decided to add the next bag to my soup. I was like, "WOAH!" It blew my mind because my soup with this jerky got taken to the next level. It was more delicious than without the jerky. This is the best jerky I have ever tasted, meat or plant-based. I gave up eating meat 13 years ago, so I've had both types. While I do not like super dry, leather-like, make your jaws sore after chewing jerky, it wouldnt be jerky without that tough chewiness. I think Louisville Jerky Co. makes a nearly perfect blend of chewy and tough jerky. I am obsessed with the Smoky Carolina BBQ flavor. I was waiting for my order to be delivered all day and I've already knocked out the bag. Part of me wants to share so people know how amazing this jerky is, but the other part doesnt want to give up even one piece. I wish the bag came with more but I am in love with Louisville Jerky Co. I tried the Maple Bacon, which was also amazing. Can't wait to try the other flavors they offer!
