I like this so much better. It is so much easier to clean and refill. The base is round like a bowl so it fits in the sink so it is easy to wash. The other one I had was square and wouldn't fit in the sink, got water all over the place. It's quit until it needs water and as soon as you add the water it is quit again. I didn't want one on a counter but knew if it was on the floor she would be playing with it and flooding the room! This is perfect. Quiet ~ but has a nice bubbly movement with a large drinking bowl. I can't think of any negative side to this product. Suggestion if you're interested: if you have never had a Fountain before ~ you may want to set it out ( Next to the current water) without plugging it in for a few days. All 3 of mine weren't sure what you to think of this strange thing!! They're all settled in now but I was afraid I would have to return it and stick with stagnant water bowls. I like this idea a lot ~ especially when we have a kitty sitter!
