## Description

TEAC TN-3B-SE The TN-3B-SE is a stylish, slimline turntable with belt drive, built-in MM-type PHONO EQ amplifier. It uses a new fulcrum tonearm developed in collaboration with high-end tonearm manufacturer SAEC for maximum stability and resolution. The belt drive helps to reduce unwanted cogging effects (e.g. fine pulsation) from the operation of the motor to ensure precise and smooth record rotation. The TN-3B also uses a high-precision NJM8080 operational amplifier in its built-in phono EQ amplifier, allowing users to enjoy the sound of their vinyl records with low distortion and high quality. The TN-3B offers natural and balanced sound quality and is quick and easy to set up. We believe it sets a new standard that meets the needs of both audiophiles and passionate record collectors. SEAC tonearm In collaboration with SAEC Corporation, a world-renowned high-end tonearm manufacturer, the TN-3B-SE's tonearm features a knife-edge pivot. Unlike conventional bearings, subtle movements with this tonearm actually help to produce a more dynamic sound with excellent resolution. The S-shaped tonearm also uses a universal headshell mount that allows the user to quickly and easily change cartridges (from 14 - 23g / 0.5 - 0.8 oz.) / headshells. Precise anti-skating and stylus pressure adjustment. The statically balanced, S-shaped tonearm is equipped with a counterweight for precise stylus pressure adjustment and an anti-skating mechanism for accurate stylus pressure adjustment, allowing precise vinyl record playback. Pre-installed VM Series cartridge An Audio-technica AT-VM95E cartridge with an elliptical stylus tip conveniently comes pre-installed on the headshell. After opening the box, simply set up the turntable and mount the headshell on the tonearm to enjoy your records. Integrated MM phono EQ amplifier The TN-3B-SE has an MM phono EQ amplifier that allows you to connect the turntable to a conventional amplifier/Hi-Fi system that lacks a PHONO input. The NJM8080 is a low distortion hi-fi operational amplifier used to amplify the low level signals from the phono cartridge to LINE level. External belt drive with die-cast aluminium plate The belt drive minimises motor cogging by driving the outer edge of the platter (larger diameter, greater mass, larger surface area). Luxurious, multi-layer paint finish All internal components are mounted on a robust, high-density MDF base for rigidity and vibration damping. Thanks to its elegant and stylish design, the TN-3B-SE provides the perfect setting for listening to vinyl records. 33-1/3 and 45 rpm 2-speed turntable The TN-3B-SE supports both 33-1/3 and 45 rpm for LP and EP recordings. Our commitment to quality engineering is also evident in the design of the start-up/speed selection knob, which is made of machined aluminium. Insulating feet with excellent shock absorption The insulating feet consist of a machined aluminium shell covered with a rubber pad attached to the high-density MDF base. Thanks to their excellent damping properties, the TN-3B-SE is highly resistant to acoustic feedback. Base plate with honeycomb pattern The base plate features a honeycomb pattern that minimises unwanted vibrations.

Review: Great turntable! - Looks great and sounds even better! Was able to play it through my soundboard, rather than having to buy a new amp.
Review: Very nice quality - I purchased one of these as a Black Friday special for a significant discount. I wanted it for my smaller system based on Ruark MR1s and an SB1 in my study. As the TEAC has a very good phono preamp included, as well as the great value AT95E cartridge, you get a lot for the money. The TT came direct from Austria and was very well packaged. The external belt drive approach means you get far less wow and flutter (speed wobbles) than some of the similar priced competition, especially those using plastic inner rings from some well known brands (R*** and cheaper Pr**** to n*me a couple). The arm is a work of art and tracks the AT cartridge very well straight out of the box. The lid is nice as are the adjustable aluminium feet and there are 4 for added stability. Again this was level on my stand, straight out of the box. In black, it looks fantastic and is very good value for the money. The motor does make a little bit of physical noise as it’s settling in but this is inaudible at the speakers due to the belt drive system. Overall, one of the very best turntables available under £400 and it will work well in a system of up to about £1.5k but you will need a solid stand and not place it directly next to a speaker. This is true of any non sub-sprung turntable. Of course, those specialist turntables are typically more than £1k with no preamps. I have one of those in my main system. I got the TEAC so that I can listen to my well preserved vinyl collection and ensure records do not get damaged. I did try the TEAC with a specialist iFi phono preamp that cost nearly as much as the TEAC kit. It worked very well with that but for a simple system I’ll just use the in built phono stage as it’s about 70% of the iFi quality. Overall, a very nice quality turntable, not dissimilar to the well regarded Fluance range. However, they don’t have in built preamps at the similar quality and price point. This is more premium than the first three Fluance models.
