A: No the orange is red or vice versa. Can’t remember which is on the piano and which is on the book but you can still go by the book knowing that. Bought one and it quit working right away. Bought another and it did as well. Good luck

A: I believe you can use it on carpet.  We use it on one of those soft puzzle floors.
