Being more than a little apprehensive at spending so much money on such an unknown, I read many reviews about this Sealy mattress and others before deciding to try my first online mattress purchase. For a number of reasons outlined in the following review, I am pleased to say that I would not have any hesitation in doing it again.After several weeks of research, I finally bought a Sealy plush tight top. This was different from the usual firm mattresses I have always slept upon, but thought I would try something a bit softer to ease the constant pain in my back and neck. Delivery notification along the way was top-notch. Mattress was delivered on time, boxed and wrapped, in excellent condition. The delivery men were courteous, professional, respectful of my property and as helpful as they could be, unboxing the mattress, placing it where I wanted it and discarding the packing for me.Initially, I liked the plush mattress. Even though I sank into it more than I expected, it was comfortable, I slept well and my back and neck felt better. I really thought this mattress would work for me. However, after several weeks, I began to be annoyed by the plushness. It was too soft, and I was sinking into it too much. Although physically my sleep was still good, rolling over in bed became an increasing effort. It was like I had to extricate from my mattress before I could proceed into another sleeping position. It was not uncomfortable but really started to annoy me.Much as I had liked it in the beginning, after about three weeks I decided this plush mattress was not for me and contacted Amazon to exchange it for a firm tight top mattress. Without any questions asked, in fact they apologized that the mattress was not to my liking, Amazon immediately issued a full refund for the plush mattress. That same day I ordered the same Sealy mattress but the firm tight top this time.Like the first one, this mattress was delivered in about a week, with helpful delivery notifications along the way. It was delivered on time, wrapped and boxed, and set up in the room I desired, again same as the first mattress. Both were in excellent, new condition. Even though the second mattress was delivered by a different delivery company, the no-complaint process was exactly the same...the delivery men were very courteous, professional, respectful of my home and property and did everything I asked.As for the new mattress, have now slept on that for about three weeks and am most pleased with it. The plush tight top mattress was an excellent mattress, just not for me. Sleeping on my new firm tight top mattress is very restful and just what I wanted. It is not overly firm and provides very good support. I am 6', 225 lbs., primarily a side and back sleeper, and this mattress works great for me. Even when sleeping on my stomach occasionally, it is quite comfortable.Even though it is a firm, it is actually softer than my old firm mattress (also a Sealy, now 16 years old and still in decent shape). When I go to bed with an aching back or sore neck (which is usual for me after sitting all day in my office chair), they do not hurt in the morning. In fact, my only complaint about this mattress is that it makes it harder to get up in the morning because I just do not want to get out of bed. That's a nice complaint to have.So there you have it. Every step along the way I have been most pleased with everything which transpired regarding these mattresses. Both are quality products, and even though I preferred one over the other, I was not penalized for that. I could not have asked for a better experience from ordering the first mattress, its delivery, the return and refund, ordering the second mattress, and its delivery.One final word on the delivery services. I live in Connecticut and, as noted earlier, both of the services could not have been any better. I would mention the company names but do not remember them.Since the entire purchasing-delivery-refund-repurchasing-delivery process went so smoothly, if I could give six stars for this ordering experience I would. So I gave my (more expensive!) plush mattress to a friend in need and ordered this one. First, the price was great. The price was better than competitors and included shipping, and scheduled full delivery to room of choice with set up, and with haul-away included for the old one if I needed it. Competitors were charging $60-100 for white glove delivery and haul away.The delivery service was great. It was available for delivery within 2 days of the order and I was able to schedule a Saturday with no problem (scheduled from the Amazon order screen, not waiting for phone calls from the contacted delivery service). The delivery was on time (15 minutes early in fact) and the guys who delivered it were professional and polite, and set it up quickly, taking the old mattress to the front porch (as I told them I didn't need haul away because a friend would pick up). They even put the old mattress in the packaging bag so it wouldn't get wet (it was raining).The mattress itself looks great. No off-gas smell or any odor that I can detect. It's obviously new, all tags intact, no damage or tears in the lining or seams. It is a very firm mattress and that's what I wanted. I am very pleased with it. This is a tight top, no cushiony thick padding on the top. I may use a gel foam pad over it (from the old bed) but it really doesn't seem to need it. Will update review after sleeping on it for a few weeks.
