If you stick with the rainbow, ROYGBV and add Black and one of the browns, you basically have 8 clearly distinguishable colors. The greens are very close to each other as are the browns. Even red and orange are pretty close if looked at from across the room. Yellow is almost too light to use but you can switch to the lighter orange. The visibility of the colors is good. However, your results may vary. It really depends on how close you are to the whiteboard and how good the lighting is in the room. I am happy with these.
