Everything about the new mres is great. Flavor seems to be dinty moore beef stew mixed with slow cooked brisket chunks, not at all a bad flavor. I was pleasantly surprised to find the whole thing was in great shape and tasted delicious. The Southwest Style Beef tasted similar to Stagg chili, but the quality of the beef was much better than what you find in Stagg chili. There was more food in the XMRE than I needed and had trouble finishing all of it. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but decided to try to coffee anyway.
