Used for highlights and enhancing other glazes. ## Features - COLOR PROFILE - Candy Apple Red is a glossy glaze with a bold, saturated red hue and smooth surface. Subtle tonal variations add depth, ranging from bright cherry to slightly darker crimson areas. The high-gloss finish enhances its rich color and gives it a vibrant, eye-catching look. - CONE 5–6 MID-FIRE - Formulated for mid-fire kilns at cone 5 and cone 6 (about 2167–2232°F). Always fire in a calibrated pottery kiln, never a kitchen oven, so your results match the swatch. - GLOSSY, SEMI-TRANSLUCENT FINISH - Fires to a glossy shine that lets some of the clay body show through, so color deepens where the glaze pools over edges, carving and texture. - READY TO BRUSH & BLEND - Ready to brush straight from the jar. Blend with colors in the same series to make new glaze colors, or layer it with other glazes for new effects. - ART MATERIAL - Conforms to ASTM D-4236 art materials standard. Suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food or drink when fired to the specified cone on the product label. Crazing, pinholing or blistering makes a surface unsuitable; test your own clay and firing. - CONSCIENTIOUSLY MANUFACTURED - At Penguin Pottery, our core values are simple: manufacture responsibly in the USA, craft exceptional products, and support the pottery community by donating 1% of our sales to school programs, community centers, and disaster relief for artists. - LIFETIME WARRANTY - Penguin Pottery products are backed by our Lifetime Warranty. If you have any issues, we will give you a refund or replace your product. See warranty & support section for more information. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09WWSD5PJ | | Best Sellers Rank | #20,318 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ( See Top 100 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ) #31 in Ceramics Glazes | | Color | Amethyst | | Coverage | Varies with application thickness and number of coats | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars (245) | | Date First Available | March 30, 2022 | | Finish | Gloss | | Item Package Quantity | 1 | | Item Weight | 1.55 pounds | | Item model number | PP-GZ-MH-266 | | Manufacturer | Penguin Pottery | | Material | Liquid ceramic glaze. | | Part Number | PP-GZ-MH-266 | | Product Dimensions | 3.5 x 3.5 x 4 inches | | Size | 16 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) | | Usage | Pottery | ## Images ![Penguin Pottery - Ceramic Glaze - Mid-Fire Cone 5 & 6 - Celadon Series - Candy Apple Red - 16 oz | 473 ml - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61Q8Ew+ggEL.jpg) ![Penguin Pottery - Ceramic Glaze - Mid-Fire Cone 5 & 6 - Celadon Series - Candy Apple Red - 16 oz | 473 ml - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/619Y-jOD2lL.jpg) ![Penguin Pottery - Ceramic Glaze - Mid-Fire Cone 5 & 6 - Celadon Series - Candy Apple Red - 16 oz | 473 ml - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71NsCmyXO1L.jpg) ![Penguin Pottery - Ceramic Glaze - Mid-Fire Cone 5 & 6 - Celadon Series - Candy Apple Red - 16 oz | 473 ml - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71zrod3-OoL.jpg) ![Penguin Pottery - Ceramic Glaze - Mid-Fire Cone 5 & 6 - Celadon Series - Candy Apple Red - 16 oz | 473 ml - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61NoUETbhrL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great color! *by D***L on September 5, 2026* Love this glaze and color- beautiful blue -fires well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product. *by M***K on September 19, 2026* Great cone 6 red.
